Auction Bid Assistant does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything the extension saves stays on your device. We have no servers storing your information.
Auction Bid Assistant is developed and operated by Auctioneersvault Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. For GDPR purposes, Auctioneersvault Ltd is the data controller. Because the extension does not transmit or store personal data on our servers, we act as data controller only in relation to any direct correspondence you initiate with us (e.g. support emails).
Auction Bid Assistant is a browser extension available for Safari (macOS via the Mac App Store), Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. It helps online auction buyers:
We do not collect any personal data through the Auction Bid Assistant extension. We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, crash reporting services, or any form of telemetry. No data from your use of the extension is ever sent to our servers or to any third party.
The extension stores the following information locally on your device only, using the browser's built-in browser.storage.local API:

This locally stored data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to Auctioneersvault Ltd or any third party, and can be cleared at any time using the "Clear All" button in the extension popup or by removing the extension entirely.

The optional Live Bridge relays live auction bid prices from auction pages to the Auction Bid Assistant web app when both are open simultaneously in your browser. Data passes between tabs using the browser's built-in messaging APIs (chrome.runtime.sendMessage / browser.storage.local). No personal information is included. No data is sent to Auctioneersvault Ltd's servers. The Live Bridge does not activate unless you have both pages open at the same time.
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any. The extension contains no advertising networks, analytics services, social media trackers, or third-party SDKs that transmit data. The extension interacts with the following websites solely to deliver features you have explicitly requested:

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Norway, GDPR or UK GDPR applies. Because the extension does not collect or process personal data on our servers, most GDPR rights apply to data held on your own device, over which you have full control.
If you have contacted us by email, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of that correspondence. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Auction Bid Assistant is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK) and does not knowingly collect data from children. The extension is designed for adult auction buyers.
We retain no user data on our servers. Lot data stored locally by the extension remains on your device until you clear it via "Clear All" or uninstall the extension. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your query.
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will change. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
